Oreo Cookies and Cream Pudding Pops

Pudding pops remind me of my childhood. I remember my mom picking them up as a special treat for my dad, but of course he would always share them with us kids. A 6 pack was gone in an instant to one loving dad and 5 grateful children. I clearly remember that rich and creamy pudding pop. It was soft and perfectly chocolate. But inevitably, it would end and all I would be left with was the stick.

Strawberry Lime Yogurt Popsicles

My 3 year old is as fickle as little girls come. One day she loves loves loves lemon and I make a batch of our favorite Raspberry Lemonade Popsicles. The next day she says, "Mommy, I don't like lemon". Fine, what would you like? Blueberry Vanilla Yogurt Popsicles? Oh yes, mommy! OK. After one... "Mama, I prefer strawberry". Seriously? I can't imagine how she became so fickle. Oh, wait. Maybe I know someone like that.

Frozen Chocolate Covered Banana Treats

Coming up with treats for my Munchkin are always fun. But planning treats for parties is purely exciting. As I mentioned before my 3 year old is on a sprinkle kick. I am pretty sure if you put sprinkles on Brussel sprouts she would eat them, well maybe not. But, every dessert I make now has sprinkles, the Funfetti Sugar Cookie Dough Dip that we created recently was loaded with sprinkles.

Rocket Pops - Coffee Fueled Popsicles Ice Pops

We have been on such a coffee kick since we returned from New Orleans. I love coffee but in the summer it is just miserable to drink a hot cup of joe. I've spent a lot of time and money at my favorite coffee shop enjoying my favorite iced coffee drinks. Heck, I buy mocha lattes and fappes and cafe this and that everywhere we go.

Summery Orange Raspberry Ice Pops

Summer wouldn't be complete without a special cool down treat. This year must be the summer of pools. We have been pool sitting for our neighbor, swimming in Nana and Papa's pool and been to fabulous hotels with outrageous pool. Time for swim lessons and scrumptious popsicles to cool down by the pool with.

Virgin Piña Colada Ice Pops - Munchkin Pineapple Coconut Pops

Last week when I was buying fruit for the piña colada cocktail my munchkin pointed at the coconut and pineapple and said, "pops mommy"! Well, I thought, I can do that. So, after Chad created the fabulous Classic Piña Colada for Ladies Night I decided to follow his lead and create an amazing Virgin Piña Colada Ice Pop.

Peaches and Cream Ice Pops

After getting a case of some of the most delicious peaches ever, last year, I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of peach season. As soon as I spotted the 49 cent/lb sale, I knew it had arrived. We headed off to the store and carefully picked about 20 pounds of the beautiful and fragrant fruit. I was so excited I got them home and waited for them to become ripe enough to enjoy. Almost giddy with anticipation, I cut into the first peach and topped it with a dollop of whipped cream.

Heaven! Certainly destined for a popsicle, but I could only see peaches and cream...

Sublime Strawberry Popsicles are the perfect icy cold summery treat to help beat the summer heat!

.
We tend to receive the most questions about ice pops, during the summer months. How do you make them? How do you layer them? Where did you get the popsicles molds? How do you store your ice pops? How do you pick the flavors? These are all frequently asked questions. Over the next 3 weeks we are going to answer these questions and more.

Cantaloupe and Cream Lime Ice Pops

Sometimes a summer produce sale is the next best thing to heaven. While I was out grocery shopping last week I found my store had cantaloupe for 50 cents each, so of course all of a sudden I desperately needed cantaloupe.

After taking them home, my picky toddler took a stand against trying the cantaloupe. So, sometimes you pick your battles and sometimes you formulate a better battle plan. I opted for the latter. Ice pops it is. I have mentioned before that ice pops are our 'no fail' fall back when Munchkin won't eat anything else. Those are usually packed them with yogurt. However, yogurt is not a great companion for cantaloupe in an ice pop. So, I needed something thick rich and creamy. Heavy cream won out!

Fruit of the Islands Ice Pops: Raspberry, Mango, Pineapple and Kiwi

We are truly enjoying the fruits of summer this year. This ice pop was inspired by my desire to make an awesome ice pop that brought together some of the flavors of the islands and then luckily, the planets aligned (aka the store sales cooperated). We combined some of our favorite flavors to make an incredibly eye catching amazingly flavored ice pop. This one our Munchkin calls an I-Pop. Cute huh?

Truly a rainbow of fruit flavor. Geesh, every time I start to describe this I run across another product advertisement. Those Saturday morning commercials must have been really good as a kid. They are still stuck in my head. Taste the rainbow!

Raspberry Lemonade Yogurt Ice Pops

If you are looking for a tasty way to beat the summer heat, the Raspberry Lemonade Yogurt Ice Pop is just the perfect treat. Chad and I have a deep love and appreciation for all things lemon. Whether its sweet treats, savory eats, household remedies or beauty treatments we are always happy to use lemon. We always have a fruit basket full of lemons and a good portion of the year we are fortunate enough to have a tree full of lemons.

As I was preparing these fabulously flavorful frozen treats, all I could think about was biting into one. Savoring the layers of tart lemon juice and lemon zest and contrasting sweet raspberries perfectly combined with smooth and creamy protein packed yogurt. I very carefully constructed each popsicle. Took my time, I mean look at those raspberries, all with the end game in mind. These were mine! Chad doesn't care for popsicles that much and Munchkins palette isn't quite developed enough to really enjoy lemon yet. This creation was all for me.

The Terrible Two's and Ice Pops

We have faced many 'terrible two' challenges since my Munchkin was about 1 1/2, that was about a year ago. Behavior seems to be pretty good, with an occasional stomping fit. Those are few and far between so we handle them on a case by case basis. My biggest struggle has actually been food.

As a SAHM, I am responsible for my family's nutrition, among other things. If my daughter won't eat, I take that to heart. Some days she could eat us out of house and home and other days nothing will do. I have come to a few little tricks to give her something she loves with a healthy sneak attack, that makes Mom happy.

Green Tickles: Kiwi Pineapple Popsicles

Gazing out the window on a hot summer day, I find myself longing for a tropical island paradise surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters. Palm trees, tropical fruit, paradise....

Just then I look out my window and watch the shadows of yet another heatwave pass by, in this hellacious desert. I developed this tropical inspired ice pop as my own mini get away. On those long hot summer days, while my Munchkin is napping, I lay on my love seat and enjoy this unbelievable frozen treat. Just the soothing sounds of a clicking ceiling fan as I savor every moment and allow myself to be swept away to my own little paradise. If only for just a moment.

Gourmet Strawberry Balsamic Popsicles

Summertime calls for refreshing treats; fresh fruit and ice pops are tied for number one in our book. So how do you take your favorites and combine them into one incredible treat? It occurred to me when I was making the balsamic reduction for the Gourmet Caprese Burger. After reducing the balsamic, it was so amazing I was literally licking it off the spoon. So, I had to make a second batch, okay and a third too. I could not stop eating it and drizzling it on everything. I realized that first of all, Fresina's should look into turning their Signature Balsamic into lollipops. Seriously. I would buy them!

Scrumptious Strawberry Banana Popsicles

Nothing says summer quite like a luscious fruit popsicle on a warm summer day. I love to watch my munchkin devour these, it makes me think of summers when I was a kid. Bomb pop in one hand, running in the back yard, playing by the water. Right arm dripping in red, white and blue. How much fun was that? I can't say that I have had the enjoyment of watching my munchkin dripping in ice pops, she devours them too quickly. But, with temps of 110 and climbing here in the valley of the sun, I am sure it won't be long.

These Scrumptious Strawberry Banana Popsicles are there and gone in an instant. So delicious! The vibrant, sweet and tart strawberries wake up your taste buds and carry you into the surprisingly more mellow, tender banana yogurt and then round it out with the mouthwatering strawberry again.
