This Thanksgiving Netflix is teaming up with chef Curtis Stone to create some fabulous recipes to go along with some of your favorite shows. The great thing about Netflix is that members can enjjoy their favorite TV shows and movies anytime, anywhere! Members can watch their favorite shows on an iPad in the kitchen, on a big flat screen in the living room, or even on their phones while they are waiting to pick up their children from school.
Netflix is making it easier then ever to bring the family together this Thanksgiving by giving suggestions on what TV shows and movies to watch while Thanksgiving dinner is cooking. Have you seen the Netflix hit show "Orange is the New Black?" Chef Curtis Stone created Red's Orange White Russian to go along with this hit show and I recreated this amazing beverage in my kitchen while viewing an episode of "Orange is the New Black."
Want to make this drink at home for your own viewing party? No problem!
Red's Orange White Russian
Ice cubes
1/4 cup Kahlúa
2 tablespoons vodka
1 tablespoon Cointreau
2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1 navel orange
- Fill a rocks glass halfway with ice cubes. Add the Kahlúa, vodka, and Cointreau and gently stir to blend.
- Pour the cream over so that it floats on top of the Kahlúa mixture. Using a fine grater, grate some orange zest on top. Serve immediately.
Now that you have a delicious beverage it's time to get thinking about holidays. I do a lot of baking and cooking during this time of year so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen prepping the meals. I get bored being in the kitchen by myself so I love that I can take my laptop into the kitchen and catch up on my favorite shows while I'm cooking. One show I can't get enough of is The Vampire Diaries. When I'm watching my shows and cooking the time just flies by and I don't even mind being in the kitchen for several hours at a time.
I also plan on watching Orange is the New Black while I'm working in the kitchen this Thanksgiving. I think it will be fun for my mom and I to watch together while we put together Thanksgiving dinner. Which show or movie on Netflix are you looking forward to watching while you're busy cooking in the kitchen?
After dinner I hope we'll have enough time to get together as a family and watch A Christmas Story. This is the one movie my family watches every year during the holidays. We enjoy watching Ralphie in this classic film together as a family. Do you have a favorite holiday movie? Which one do you watch as a family?
Don't forget to follow Netflix on Social Media to find out what TV shows and movies are coming out soon!
