Wine and Cheese with Kerrygold Dubliner Cracker Cut Cheese

I am a cheese addict.  I don't know exactly when it happened but I am hopelessly in love with cheese.  I love it on sandwiches, served with crackers, with fruit, or even by itself.  When my brother and I were kids we used to microwave soft pretzels for a snack and pour half a bag of cheese over top of them and melt that too.

The older I get the pickier I get about the cheese I eat.  This summer I went to the Big Summer Potluck and met Mairead from Kerrygold. While I had heard of Kerrygold Cheese and Butter, I have to admit I'd never tried it before.  On Saturday night at the conference we were given an entire cheese board per table and I was totally blown away by the selection of cheeses!  They were so creamy and almost melted in my mouth.  My favorites were the Dubliner and the Skellig Sweet Cheddar.

That's why when I heard Kerrygold was coming out with Dubliner Cracker Cut Cheese I was excited to try it out!  The wonderful people at Kerrygold ended up sending me a box filled with everything I would need to try their newest cheese.  It included the Dubliner Cracker Cut Cheese, a box of crackers, almonds, an apple, apple slicer, and ever a bottle of wine!  They thought of everything!

If you've never had Dubliner before it's described as a mature cheese with a distinctive, rounded flavor and a natural hint of sweetness.  It has elements of a fine Cheddar, nutty quality of a Swiss and the piquant bite of aged Parmesan.  In simple terms?  It's awesome!

My husband and I set out the goodies on a wooden cutting board, got two glasses, and enjoyed our very own wine and cheese happy hour.  The cracker cut cheese was perfect to eat on the crackers or with a slice of apple.  It went almost perfectly with the wine as well.  I can't wait for my next book club meeting because I know exactly what I'll be serving; it'll be a wine and cheese party for sure!
